I. What is a PTR Record?
A PTR record (Pointer Record), as defined in RFC1035, is a reverse DNS record. It is a core component of email system infrastructure. By verifying the association between the sending server’s IP and the domain name, it helps reduce the risk of emails being marked as spam or rejected.
II. Setting up a PTR Record
Reminder: PTR records are only available with a dedicated sender IP.
1. Log in to the email console, click Manage Sender IP, select PTR Record, and then click ‘Set’.
2. To improve email deliverability, we recommend adding your primary email domain (you may update it later if needed). Enter the domain to be bound, then click “Next.
3. Add the system-provided DNS records to the associated domain as instructed on the page.
Reminder:
a. Keep DNS records active while the Sender IP is in use to avoid emails being marked as spam or rejected.
b. Domains managed on ipzh.com with the default DNS server can be verified using ‘One-Click Setup’.
c. Domains using other DNS servers require manual record entry on the respective platform.
d. DNS changes usually take 5–10 minutes to propagate. Please wait until the records are active before submitting verification.
4. When the domain is active, the PTR setup is complete. Click “Change” to update the associated domain.
